Megapro 30S is a unique combination of rumen protected fat from sustainable sources and rumen protected protein in the balance recommended by research. The fat in Megapro 30S is in the form of calcium salts of palm fatty acids which are inactive in the rumen but are available for digestion in the small intestine.
The protected fat component of Megapro 30S is manufactured from 100% segregated, fully-traceable, certified sustainable sources.
The protein component of Megapro 30S is supplied by rapeseed meal which has been processed using exclusive Volac technology to increase the high quality bypass protein concentration to 70% of the total protein.

Megapro 30S has been developed according to this principle and provides the ideal balance of fat and protein according to research recommendations (assessed as grams of rumen undegraded protein per MJ of ME from fat).

More Milk
High yielding dairy cows in early lactation cannot eat enough to provide all the energy they need for maintenance and milk production. This results in an ‘energy gap’ during which they use body fat to make up the energy shortfall. Megapro 30S is a concentrated source of energy so the cow consumes more energy in every mouthful, helping improve energy balance.
Efficient milk production can only be achieved where additional energy is balanced with high quality protein. This helps ensure maximal production of milk and milk solids.
Not only is the protein in Megapro 30S highly rumen undegradable (bypass), but it also has an ideal balance of methionine and lysine amino acids. These are normally the first limiting amino acids for milk production and improving their supply to the small intestine can help promote milk yield and production of milk protein and fat.
Better Health and Fertility
Megapro 30S is not fermented in the rumen so reduces production of acids in the rumen compared with cereal sources of energy, helping reduce acidosis.
Reduced rumen acid production can help reduce incidence of lameness.
Megapro 30S can help help reduce negative energy balance to reduce the risk of ketosis and fatty liver.
Reduced negative energy balance helps improve cow fertility.
The fat in Megapro 30S increases production of progesterone, the essential hormone for pregnancy.
The protein in Megapro 30S is predominantly rumen bypass so does not lead to accumulation of rumen ammonia which can impair fertility.

Feeding systems and rates
For lactating cows typically feed 1-1.5 kg of Megapro 30S/head/day.
For other cattle, typically feed 250-750 g/head/day.
It can be fed via total mixed rations and home mixes and can easily be incorporated into dairy compounds and blends.
