Volac expands with acquisition of AGRO-BEST spol. s.r.o.
Leading dairy nutrition company Volac has announced it’s acquisition of Agrobest, the Czech Republic based speciality feed business.
Agrobest and Volac have worked closely together as long term partners since the early 1990s with Agrobest representing the sales interests of Volac in central and eastern Europe. The acquisition enables Volac to develop its business in the region through expansion into new and developing livestock feed markets.
“This acquisition is the latest development in our growth plans were Volac is aligning our successful business with the opportunities created by milk production in central and eastern Europe,” says Volac Sales and Marketing Director, David Neville. “The Czech and Slovak dairy markets are two important areas for the business. Average cow yields have increased by 50 % in the last 10 years and the milk/feed price ratio has remained positive since the Millennium so there is an excellent fit for Volac’s performance products. Agrobest’s integration into the Volac Group will give us a platform for further growth in central and eastern Europe and a foundation to build on existing exports to Germany, Poland, Hungary, the Balkans, the Baltic States and Russia.”
Dalibor Mikyska, one of the founders of Agrobest, will continue to run the business and will be joined by Connor Rudden, Technical Director at Volac and David Neville, Sales and Marketing Director as executive directors for the company.
